Power Plant was done for Woot's "Puns" derby. I will definitely submit this one elsewhere soon. I definitely prefer the gray version to the full-color version. What do you think?
I definitely like the above-ground in the color version and the underground in the gray.
I missed 3 things in gray but then saw them in color: the lights in the trees, the power lines go off into the distance not the foreground, and the cohesiveness of the tree bark texture in color. But then, the roots/plugs and their metal contacts really pop in the gray version.
Hey, I just noticed that you added your portfolio to your sig on woot, so I had to check it out. I had to say, I love the color version of this one but the gray version definitely gave it more of the “feel” that it should have. I think you should re-do the color one, and make it cuter- turn that tree into a treehouse with the lights or something. With some of those awesome bears that you draw. It’s such an awesome tree, and such a great palette but the cords and smokestacks bum me out. As they should (which is why the gray is more suited, ha).

I definitely prefer the gray one. Mostly because it’s a bit darker and that works best with the smoke stacks. The color one turned out a little more whimsical than I would have liked which is why I reworked the colors.
